London: Lifestyle of the rich and famous.

I still have to pinch myself when i think back on everything i experienced during my time in London. As i sat the plane on the way back to Australia, i thought to myself ‘i will never experience anything like that again’… Little did i know that 5months later i would be flown back  to indulge in the lifestyle all. over. again.

My first taste of London was a 5 story house positioned in the elegant Notting Hill, my new home as ‘the nanny’.  From there, i began working at ‘high profile’ events, dressed immaculately as i looked after little ladies and gentlemen. They may have been 5 but they possessed the mannerisms and fashion sense of a prestigious adult.

Have you ever seen ‘made in chelsea’.. i have, first hand. My second job landed in me in a fully staffed house hold and world i couldn’t comprehend. Private drivers, long lunches at the closest place to heaven and designer brands with every turn.

It was nice pretending during the day and at night i would hop back on my double decker bus to my small home in Shepherds Bush where only 2 out of the 4 hot plates would work and our bedroom was also our lounge room.

Being back in Australia, nothing is all that fancy. I come home every day with play dough under my nails and paint on my clothes.  My house is expensive but small, the carpet is stained, there are cockroaches in the kitchen and our oven doesn’t work. I sometimes laugh when i think back on my time in London and how people seemed to think i was ‘ from money’ because i was well mannered.

I was sure i would never experience the London life again and i was okay with that.  That was until i was invited to go back. Its almost ironic that someone so ordinary is employed to do such extraordinary things.   I sometimes feel i could write a book about the life i have lived thus far but this blog will suffice.

In two days, i am being flown to London so that i can join a family to their chalet in Switzerland, all expenses paid for + generous pay check at the end of it.

I’m sure, if i was not loyal to confidentiality i could create some form of ‘nanny diaries’ but you’ll just have to trust me when i say: London nannying is the lifestyle of the rich and the famous.
