4 things you have to do in Barcelona but may miss.

Heading to Barcelona this summer?

Here are My 4 tips for first timers  (that you wouldn’t always be told)  for Barcelona would be;

1.Venture down side streets for dinner. La Ramblas is lined with restraunts and shop keepers trying to pull you in. While they look good, in my experience it was the smaller, hidden stores that offered delicious, cheap and fresh foods.
Bar Resolis, just off carrer de l’hospital, may just be the greatest tapas bar i have ever visited. I could not recommend this place more.

2 Take a 20 minute train to Badelona beach! Less people, nicer beaches and more than 10% mark down on the same things you would buy in Barcelona. I had the best day exploring this more excluded beaches.

3 Visit Picasso gallery.
Okay, this one is no secret. Picasso is obviously a universal name but trust me, not many people take the time to visit the gallery and in my opinion, it is well worth the visit.
Whether you’re into art or not, this gallery is a must. I spent hours roaming through the gallery, in total awe. Learn about picasso’s youth and witness his incredible works.

4. Take a ride on the jazz sail tour.
I walked past this boat every day for 7 days without considering going on it. I am so glad that I made friends with a bux party who had planned their first day in Barcelona on a jazz cruise. The most relaxing couple of hours of my entire stay! Make sure you get a spot on the net and BYO drinks!

Cost: 15euro’s
Departs: The main port.

Note: sunset cruise will take your breath away! If you can, opt for the sunset sailing.

5. visit the

Been to Barcelona? What would you reccomend for a first timer?

  6. Good tips! I would also recommend renting a bicycle and just biking around the city on your own if you can. It’s a great way to see parts that you wouldn’t otherwise see. Good way to leave La Ramblas as well if that is where you end up staying.

  7. Casa Batllo & Casa Mila! 🙂 They’re beautiful houses designed by Gaudi. And of course the as-yet-uncompleted-yet-still-awesome Sagrada Familia!
